Aims of the courses I, along with a small team, run courses for sufferers of eating disorders at Nicholaston House. The aims of the courses are to assist sufferers to uncover the role that the eating disorder plays in the individual's life and to explore healthy alternative ways of coping. The underlying issues are addressed along with what ongoing help is needed.
| | What the days consist of
The courses work on the premise that we are physical, emotional and spiritual beings and that healing is required in all three areas. The ethos is Christian, although both Christians and non-Christians have attended and found benefit.
The days are broken down into interactive teaching, prayer ministry, (or talking in confidence), group discussion and times of reflection. |

Download a booking form | Who attends and what it's like The number of people attending is usually between six and twelve; intentially kept small enough to maintain individual input. They tend to be mixed groups, comprising sufferers of anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating and can include both men and women. Nicholaston House has a warm, caring atmosphere and the interest of the whole person is considered. Meals are carefully planned around each individual group, whilst also encouraging change. |
